This strategic role will empower every student to make informed, confident decisions about their future, integrating career education across the curriculum and connecting students with real-world experiences, tertiary pathways, and labour market insights.
As a key member of our team, you’ll be a trusted advisor to students, whānau, and staff, and a driving force behind future-focused career education at QMC.
Ngā haepapa | The responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of a whole school careers strategy aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
- Collaborate with staff, employers, and external agencies to create meaningful career experiences for students.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of careers provision, using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Champion equity and inclusion, ensuring all students have access to tailored support and opportunities.
- Facilitate work experience, guest speakers, and careers events that broaden horizons and inspire ambition.
- Build strong partnerships with universities, employers, and the wider QMC community.

You will bring:
- Proven experience in careers education, guidance, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A deep understanding of post-18 landscape, including apprenticeships, further and higher education, and employment.
- A commitment to student success and wellbeing.
