English and Middle School Generalist, IB DP Psychology

You will work across the Middle Years as a generalist, with a strong focus on English, and contribute to our Senior Years by delivering high-quality IB DP psychology. Teaching at MMC is active, relational and inquiry driven. Lessons are designed to stretch thinking, invite curiosity and build independence. Students are known and student agency matters.
Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging English and Middle School learning experiences aligned with the Australian curriculum and Montessori principles.
• Teach IB Diploma Programme Psychology with a clear understanding of IB teaching philosophy, assessment and academic integrity.
• Create learning environments that are calm, purposeful and intellectually challenging, while fostering independence, collaboration and respect.
• Use formative and summative assessment to inform teaching and support individual growth.
• Plan learning that is dynamic, relevant and connected to real-world contexts, particularly within a Montessori adolescent setting.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary learning and collaborative planning across teams.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with students, families and colleagues.
• Participate in school life, including camps, co-curricular programs, professional learning and community events.

About you
You are a reflective and enthusiastic educator who enjoys working with adolescents and believes learning should be active, meaningful and human. You bring:

• Current Victorian institute of teaching registration.
• Qualifications in English or a related field; additional qualifications an advantage.
• Experience teaching English and/or as a Middle School Generalist.
• Experience teaching, or willingness to teach, IB Diploma Programme Psychology.
• A strong understanding of inquiry-based, student-led and relational pedagogy.
• Confidence teaching in a Montessori context or openness to learning and growing in this approach.
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
