We are looking for a leader who is passionate in the provision of care for the social, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing of our students, staff and the school community. Additionally, the Chaplaincy program provides students numerous opportunities to engage with our local community through impactful service partnerships. These programs reflect a deep commitment to education, mutual learning, and the generous hospitality that flourishes when communities come together.
We are seeking an ordained Anglican minister or suitably qualified Christian to lead our team. The hours are negotiable (0.6FTE – 1FTE fulltime) and our desire is that the successful candidate is able to give a commitment to having a daily presence and engagement with our school community on both campuses. This position is based at the School’s Senior Campus and the start date is open to negotiation. Our priority is to find right person for this important role in our School.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain who will provide spiritual leadership, emotional support, and foster a strong sense of community within our School. This position is integral to our wellbeing team and plays a crucial role in the spiritual wellbeing of our students, staff, and families. It is expected that the person has a personal commitment to the Christian faith and has a proven understanding of working in a dynamic school environment where collaboration with others underpins our success.

Applicants will:
- possess the ability to engage the community in considering Christ in a reflective and meaningful way.
- have experience in equipping others in providing quality pastoral leadership and guidance to individuals and the community.
- demonstrate a deep understanding of Anglican traditions.
- hold current registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania), or be eligible for registration.
- hold current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain.
- commit to upholding the values of Launceston Church Grammar School and contributing to its mission.
- hold accredited qualifications in Theology.
- preferably possess professional qualifications in Education (desirable)/ teaching registration with Tasmanian Registration Board (desirable).
- a degree in Religious Education and/or Pastoral Care would be advantageous.
- be licensed by the Bishop of Tasmania.
- have demonstrated experience in establishing pastoral relationships with young people and their caregivers.
- possess knowledge and understanding of issues effecting young people in their personal and academic lives.
- understand the developmental characteristics and needs of children and adolescents.
- exhibit maturity and integrity of faith, and ability to engage in discussion with people of varying levels of faith and beliefs.
- have experience in providing spiritual guidance and pastoral care to students, staff, and families.
- demonstrate genuine care and concern for the wellbeing of students and staff.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the relevant Enterprise Agreement.

Our Senior Campus is located on the beautiful grounds at Mowbray Heights overlooking the Tamar River.
