Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Pembroke School offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Diploma and Primary Years Program (PYP). The Pembroke Middle School has over 1250 students from Years 7-12.
The Head of Boys’ Sport, together with the Head of Girls’ Sport, is a senior member of staff responsible for the sound management of sport throughout the School. They must have demonstrated expertise in sports leadership and a commitment to a high level of sports ethics. They will have teaching experience, a passion for working with students and will be easily approachable and able to relate well to the entire community.
The Head of Boys’ Sport works as part of a sports management team with the Head of Girls’ Sport, Junior School Sport Coordinators, Sports Administration Assistant and other sport coordinators including the Head of Rowing. The Head of Boys’ Sport has the responsibility of developing a comprehensive, ethical and well-run sports programme at the School which will be a magnet for current and potential students, providing them with an excellent experience in their sports. The Head of Boys’ Sport has a responsibility for sport staffing including the appointment and training of coaches, the efficient organisation of internal and external competitions, the sound management of facilities and their usage as well as individual sports budgets. The Head of Boys’ Sport represents the School with external sporting bodies and liaises with various key stakeholders.
Pembroke School has an Athlete Development Program that involves timetabled lessons in Year 9 and 10 and offers support for High Performing Athletes engaged at state and national level competitions.
This role is complemented by a permanent, substantive, full-time teaching position. The teaching allocation for the position is 0.55 of a full teaching load.
