  • RGS is evaluating the synergy between our context and philosophies and the IB PYP. The successful candidate will play a key role in advocacy and preparation for candidacy.
  • Commencement of duty will be at the start of Term 2 of 2021 or earlier through mutual agreement.
  • The role of Head of Primary School is to support the daily organisation, administration and operations of the Primary School at The Rockhampton Grammar School. This includes the pastoral, academic and co-curricular life of the school connected with Primary students, staff, parents and links with the wider community.
  • The Head of Primary reports directly to the Deputy Headmaster and is a member of the School’s Leadership Team.  The Head of Primary has overall responsibility for managing the Primary School and taking leadership in key projects.
  • The role works positively and collaboratively with the other members of the Leadership Team; offering support and seeking to ensure consistency and continuity of approach within the whole School. The Head of Primary holds the responsibility for pastoral, the curriculum and the academic progress and performance of students in the Primary School.  With specific responsibility for academic matters, Prep to Year 6, there is also a responsibility to collaborate with counterparts in the Secondary School to enable continuity of curriculum development and appropriate personal academic progress of students through the primary years and into later years of schooling.

The Rockhampton Grammar School is seeking to employ a collaborative, passionate and dynamic leader to become the Head of our Primary School. The successful applicant will have highly effective leadership skills, outstanding communication skills, an ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships, a proven ability to implement and drive literacy, numeracy and well-being outcomes in the Primary School and be able to lead and engage in collaborative leadership, community engagement and partnerships within the wider community.
