We have an amazing job opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher or current middle leader looking to make the next big step to start in term 3. We are searching for our next Head of Science; a collaborative leader who is eager to take risks, has high expectations and ready to lead our science faculty into the future.

Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The skills, experience and attitudes required are commensurate with the position.

 

  • Outstanding knowledge of and proven skills in science curriculum development and assessment
  • A strong understanding of current educational practice as it relates to student learning.
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, and to build a cohesive and effective team.
  • Demonstrated ability in mentoring and coaching and developing appropriate professional learning opportunities for staff.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks and meet prescribed deadlines.
  • Outstanding ability and experience in classroom teaching.

 

Requirements

  • Must be a New Zealand registered teacher.
  • Experience in senior Biology and/or Chemistry preferred.
