English as an Additional Language Specialist Teacher/TESOL Specialist

The Role:

We are seeking a TESOL specialist to work as a member of our Learning Resource Team across the school. We have a high population of students with language backgrounds other than English and have over 50 languages within our community. The role includes working shoulder to shoulder, co-teaching, coaching, and small group work to support student language development at point of need.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be knowledgeable of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), or Inquiry learning;
• Demonstrate understanding of the Australian Curriculum;
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrate organisational and administrative skills;
• Comply with the ACT Directorate’s  Code of Conduct and with the School’s policy and regulatory requirements;
• Demonstrate understanding for student care and development;
• Commit to student wellbeing and inclusive principles, 

Essential qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education, or equivalent;
• ACT TQI registration (or ability to obtain before commencement);
• Current Working with Vulnerable People registration;
