Radford Sports Department team is looking for ambitious and experienced applicants to support a highly successful Rowing Program.

2 years Fixed Term, Full-time

Suitably experienced and qualified applicants are invited to apply for this 2-year fixed term full-time Rowing Program Coordinator position, commencing July/August 2021.

The opportunity

An amazing opportunity has arisen within the Sports Department team be apart of a highly successful rowing program.  The position will be required to assist the the Sports Program Manager (SPM) of Rowing with the management and daily operations of the Radford College Rowing Program.  This role presents boundless opportunities for an equally motivated and ambitious candidate.

About the role

The Rowing Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the SPM of Rowing to deliver an engaging, challenging, and inclusive Radford Rowing Program where students can develop a life-long passion for rowing.  This position also includes, but is not limited to, supporting the planning, coordination and administration associated with all crews/squads; overseeing and supervising coaching, training sessions and selection processes; preparation, support, and supervision at all regattas along with pastoral care and student wellbeing.

 About you

The successful candidate will hold a NCAS Level 2 or above qualification, demonstrated accountability, delivery of outcomes and a sound understanding school rowing environments and experience leading teams of coaches. They will be a confident self-starter who enjoys building relationships with multiple stakeholders both inside and outside of the College, possesses excellent communication skills, and can be relied upon to work autonomously.

Candidates must have:

  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of Rowing.
  • Demonstrated success in the planning, implementation, and ongoing management.
  • Proven experience building and leveraging relationships to influence and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • MS Office proficient, a willingness to learn school systems (for example Synergetic and SEQTA) and experience using web environments to research, collect and analyze data.
  • Demonstrate a passion for collaborative working as a member of a high-functioning team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience.
  • Possess exceptional communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills.
  • Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • NCAS Level 2 or above qualification
  • Previous rowing experience in school environment viewed particularly favorably. 
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Light rigid (Class LR) bus license or a willingness to attain one.
  • Working with Vulnerable People card
