Santa Sabina College is seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate Secondary teacher to join the College in a newly created role of Dean of HSC.

Santa Sabina College Strathfield is a P-12 Catholic School in the Dominican tradition educating students to achieve personal excellence, to act with justice and compassion, and to embrace the future with an optimistic global vision. Located across eight hectares in Strathfield in Sydney’s multicultural inner west and enrolling over 1230 students, we offer a comprehensive co-education on our Del Monte Campus for P-4 and for girls 5-12 on our Santa Sabina Campus. Our outdoor education campus, Tallong, is located on 97 hectares in the Southern Highlands. 

Our Early Education Centre (Mary Bailey House) and Out of School Hours (OOSH) services are located in the grounds of the Primary (Del Monte) Campus. Mary Bailey House provides education and care for children aged from six weeks to five years and the College also operates three separate OOSH services for five-year-olds to Year 6 students. OOSH provides before school, after school and vacation care for children during school holiday periods.

Dean of HSC

Santa Sabina College is seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate Secondary teacher to join the College in a newly created role of Dean of HSC.

The Role 

The Dean of HSC oversees the holistic education of the girls in Year 11 and 12. This leadership position ensures a seamless approach to student-centred learning throughout the campus. The role requires collaborative leadership responsibilities in relation to the design, development and delivery of the College’s overall academic and wellbeing programs and in the strategic planning, leadership and management of the students completing Stage 6 of their education. The Dean of HSC supports the strategic intent of a P-12 continuum of learning and works collaboratively with the Director of Teaching and Learning, Dean of IB, Heads of Department, Heads of House, Director of Students and Wellbeing and the College Careers Advisor. This position reports directly to the Director of Teaching and Learning P-12.

Release allocation: This role is a teaching position with 0.4 time release.

Essential Criteria

  • ability to articulate a clear understanding and commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church.
  • ensure the curriculum reflects the College’s vision and mission.
  • experience in strategically leading change and improvement within a school context.
  • four-year trained teaching qualifications.
  • appropriate postgraduate study.
  • Understanding of NESA Stage 6 curriculum and compliance requirements.
  • current teacher accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or eligibility for registration.
