Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Pembroke School offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Diploma and the Primary Years Programme (PYP).

We are seeking a relational and reflective leader to lead our Learning Support Department, including Learning Support Coordinators, Teachers and Assistants. The Head of Learning Support has the responsibility for overseeing the Learning Support programmes for Years 7 to 12 and the legal and financial regulatory requirements of school programmes R-12.

The Head of Learning Support, in cooperation with the Dean of Studies, will ensure all matters related to Learning Support are considered and managed appropriately. The successful applicant will be collaborative and innovative with proven experience and qualifications in special/inclusive education. The role is designed to support students Years 7 to 12 to achieve through enhancing capacity and building upon inclusive practices. The School aims to identify students with learning needs as early as possible using an evidence-led approach. This is underpinned by the School’s firm commitment to inclusion for all students.  

At Pembroke, curriculum, assessment and teaching delivery and design are differentiated to suit the needs of students where suitable and possible. This includes provision of learning support for students who may need extra help. We believe in a multidimensional approach to learning that includes as many pedagogical approaches as it may take to enhance and encourage learning for individuals and groups of students.
