Accounts Payable Officer

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance Department on a permanent full time basis.  The Accounts Payable Officer reports to the Finance Manager, and is responsible for processing and administering all school payments and expenditures (excluding payroll). 

Specifically this role:

• Receives and verifies invoices and requisitions
• Processing supplier invoices for payment in accounting system (Synergetic)
• Appropriately codes transactions in line with school financial policy
• Processing employee reimbursable expenses
• Undertakes weekly cheque and EFT payments
• Maintains accounts payable database within the financial system
• Processes and reconciles petty cash

The successful candidate will have:

• 3-5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable
• A Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related discipline or working towards the same
• Experience using accounting systems and payment systems.
• Experience with Synergetic preferred but not essential
• Proven knowledge of standard Accounts Payable practices and procedures
• Demonstrated high level computer skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills and will have the ability to prioritise tasks working in a busy environment.
• Positive and professional attitude
