Canberra Girls Grammar School is seeking an outstanding individual for the position of Executive Director (Communications, Engagement & Advancement) who will lead, plan and implement comprehensive communications and engagement strategies to support the School's Strategic Design.

Who we are
Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) is an independent non-selective Anglican school with an enrolment of approximately 1,300 students. The School has a strong reputation as a leader in the education of girls. 

CGGS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School authorised to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP - from 2022) and the Diploma Programme.

The Role
Reporting to the Principal, the Executive Director (Communications, Engagement and Advancement) will lead, plan and implement comprehensive communications and engagement strategies to support the School’s Strategic Design. Leading a high performing team, the Executive Director will be responsible for the School’s brand and image, student enrolments, alumnae and engagement activities across the whole School community.

The Executive Director will excel at implementing an integrated communications and engagement program, effectively positioning key messages by ensuring quality communications, planning and management of media relations, leveraging social media platforms, stakeholder relationships and brand management.

The key purpose of this role is to lead the School strategically, innovatively and collaboratively as a member of the School Executive, continually engage the School community and lead innovative approaches in the Enrolments, Engagement, Marketing and Communications and Advancement areas.

The Executive Director (Communications, Engagement and Advancement) is responsible for the leadership and development of the Enrolments, Engagement, Marketing and Communications, and Advancement portfolios.  It is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to successfully engage the School’s wider community, including prospective, current and past students, parents and grandparents; current and past staff; donors, supporters and friends of the School for the purposes of:

  • Ensuring targeted enrolment numbers are met
  • Promoting Canberra Girls Grammar to both current families and the wider public as an excellent K-12 educational institution and that such promotion reflects the Schools values and Strategic Direction
  • Creating genuine community engagement and through this, opportunity for enhancing the School’s financial position via fundraising and development

In addition to high level management skills, the role especially requires creative and innovative thinking.
