Hunter Valley Grammar School seeks to employ an enthusiastic and dedicated full-time Classroom Teacher who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey as the Head of Student Services for fixed period of 3 years.

Hunter Valley Grammar School is an independent, non-selective, non-denominational, coeducational day school for students from Preschool – Year 12.

About the role

The Head of Student Services is responsible for overseeing the Educational Support program, the work of the Junior School Educational Assistants, and the implementation of best-practice adjustments and modifications for students. The Head of Student Services will oversee the smooth transition for students with complex learning profiles from the Preschool to the Junior School and from the Junior School to the Senior School.

This role is assigned significant release time from face-to-face activities, allowing for collaborative planning and the creation of relevant support resources.

About you

You are a teacher with a passion for inclusive practices and meeting the needs of student with diverse and complex learning profiles.

The successful applicant will have:

  • The capacity to lead and serve mainstream teaching staff, upskilling as necessary and supporting whole-school practice;
  • Proven leadership ability;
  • Significant school experience, preferably within an independent school context;
  • The ability to work co-operatively and collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students, including conflict-resolution skills;
  • Postgraduate qualifications specifically relevant to the education of students with complex learning profiles is highly desirable but not essential.

 

Salary

The salary for this position aligns with the Independent Schools NSW (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021.
