Pembroke is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding school from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Diploma and the Primary Years Programme. Pembroke has over 1,250 students from Years 7 to 12.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, knowledgeable and engaging teachers of Mathematics for full-time permanent and contract (Terms 1 to 4 2023) positions. They will develop and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons, immerse students in the subject, promoting deep understanding and connection and encourage students to develop a passion in their subject.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will have a passion for teaching Mathematics, relate well to students, parents and staff and always have students’ best interests at heart. They will be qualified and be suited to teach Year 7-12 students on our Middle and Senior School campuses. They should be familiar with the Australian Curriculum and ideally have experience in teaching across a range of courses from SACE and IB DP Mathematics.

The Department

The Mathematics Department at Pembroke is a group of approximately 20 specialist Mathematics teachers who work in an environment that emphasises teamwork, collaboration and support. 

The Australian Curriculum is taught from Years 7 to 10, where classes are organised into ability-based streams (sets) to aid with enrichment at all ability levels. There is an acceleration program for the higher ability streams, and some smaller classes to cater for the needs of students with learning difficulties. In Years 11 and 12, both SACE and IB Diploma courses are offered.
