Job Summary/Purpose:

This position is part of the IB World Schools department which focuses on support for Authorised IB schools. The position is home-based in Australia and for an initial contract period of 3 years.  There will be some travel within Australia and occasional travel within South East Asia to either conferences or IB World Schools team meetings.

The Manager is the appointed IB representative for all authorised IB World Schools in Australia - public, private, international.  The Manager will need to develop a profound understanding of these different portfolios and on the basis of this knowledge help develop and implement an Australia wide strategy for supporting IB World Schools. This strategy will include an annual plan to retain schools, build and strengthen school relations in order to optimize the breadth and depth of programme implementation, engagement and satisfaction.  In addition, the Manager will help other groups – schools, local government etc. - to connect with the relevant departments and services within the IB. 

 

The position requires a good understanding of:

  • All four IB programmes

  • IB Services available to schools

  • How schools implement IB programmes in a variety of contexts, school processes, change management, decision making and personnel issues.

  • The range of support services available to schools to support implementation and how the programmes are evaluated

  • Building and maintaining relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders.

  • The use of data tools

  • Strategic thinking and project management. 

Specific Required Experiences:

  • Master’s degree with more than 3 years’ experience.

  • Previous IB programme experience as educator, coordinator, etc.

  • Familiarity with the key features of all four IB programmes and in depth knowledge of at least one.

  • Familiarity with education systems and practices in public, private and international school systems.

  • Willingness to work flexibly and to travel as required.

  • Impeccable written and oral communication skills in English.

  • Current Authorization to work as a contractor in Australia.
