Head of Mathematics - Permanent & full-time / Commencing 2023

Lead and inspire the team of professional staff responsible for delivering an exemplary Mathematics program to all students including IB Diploma and HSC. 

What is the Role?

Providing exceptional and strategic leadership to the team of committed and professional staff responsible for delivering the Mathematics syllabi to all secondary school students including HSC and International Baccalaureate Diploma.  This role is a full-time, permanent position, commencing Term 1, 2023 and attracts a Level 2 Leadership allowance.

Who will the successful applicant be?

  • Experienced in a similar role, providing evidence of delivered outcomes
  • Experienced in the HSC and IB syllabi of Mathematics
  • Well practiced in modelling exemplary pedagogical practice and in  administering, leading and positively influencing the mathematics team to ensure they also exhibit highly skilled pedagogical practice 
  • Knowledge of recent developments in the theory and practice of senior secondary pedagogy and specifically how this applies to Secondary Mathematics
  • Be committed to professional learning and lead, administer and positively influence team members to continuously seek improvement
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the rest of the Mathematics team
  • Confidence in the use of technology and a willingness to embrace it to enhance learning in the classroom
  • Experienced at prioritising, proactive problem solving and managing deadlines on time and within budget
  • An understanding of and commitment to the School’s Christian mission, values and ethos

Previous experience teaching International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) would be an advantage.
