Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding school from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Pembroke School offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Diploma and Primary Years Program (PYP). Pembroke School has over 1,250 students from Years 7-12.

The Role

The Head of a Day House is an important leadership role within the Middle and Senior School, key in assisting the Heads of sub-school in managing the social, emotional and academic progress of students from Years 7 to 12. They continue to develop and refine the culture of their House, fostering a sense of identity for the students and aligning them with the aims of the School.

The Head of a Day House will lead the Middle School Tutors in their House and provide support as they undertake their duties. They will develop and maintain effective lines of communication, particularly with the Year 11/12 Coordinators and Senior School Tutors to support Senior School students, as well as with Student Welfare Teams and more broadly with other Middle and Senior School based leaders.

The Successful Candidate

We are seeking an exceptional pastoral care leader and educator who will be an excellent role model for our young people. They will have the skills to develop a deep and broad understanding of the students within their House, maintaining connection with students as they move through the Middle and Senior Schools. They will also have the skills to lead, inspire and develop a team of Tutors in the Middle School pastoral care setting.
