English A Language & Literature Teacher

The German International School Sydney (GISS) is currently seeking an experienced English A Language & Literature Teacher for Junior Secondary (bespoke GISS curriculum - a combination of NSW and German curriculums) and, Senior Secondary (IB Diploma Program). The ability and flexibility to teach across other disciplines such as History, Social Science, Ethics, or ToK would be ideal. We are happy to consider applications for both part-time (2-3 days) or full-time positions.

GISS is a small international school offering a bilingual education (German and English) from Preschool to the IB Diploma. We are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and registered by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and, the Federal Republic of Germany as a German School Abroad. We are a highly reputable, co-educational day school situated on the Northern Beaches, with a rich history of quality education. We are a diverse and inclusive learning community who aim to provide an enjoyable workplace for our staff. GISS achieved “Excellent German School Abroad” status in September 2017, and was awarded 14 commendations for our IB Evaluation in November 2018.

As a bilingual school (English/ German), it is preferable the candidate can teach in both languages of instruction, but this is not mandatory for this position.
