Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Pembroke School offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Diploma and the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and engaging teacher and leader to fill the position as Assistant Head of the Middle School (Years 9 & 10). The successful applicant will provide general support to the Head of Middle School, who is responsible for the effective functioning of the Middle School which operates from Years 7-10 with approximately 800 students. They will have a passion for and extensive experience in teaching and will be approachable and able to relate well to students and parents.
As a leader in the Middle School, the Assistant Head has an important role in the whole School community and a critical one that is critical to the smooth operation, culture and tone of the Middle School campus. The Assistant Head of the Middle School (Years 9 & 10) is a key player in the Middle School's leadership team and in this capacity will contribute to the development of policy and management of the whole School. The Middle School is a safe, welcoming, engaging and academically rigorous environment. Students with special needs are very well supported across all subjects. We aim to extend and challenge all of our students across academic, social, sporting and artistic domains.
This pivotal role will provide strategic and managerial support to the Head of Middle School and work closely with our Assistant Head of Middle School (Years 7-8). The Assistant Heads of Middle School form an important link between staff, students and School leadership, monitoring and assisting in the management of the operation of the campus on a daily basis. It is a role that requires a delicate balance of diplomacy, strength of character and professional confidence.
