  • The Head of the SACE is responsible for the management and administration of the major senior school academic pathway at Pembroke School.

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Pembroke School offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Diploma and the Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The Head of the SACE is responsible for the management and administration of the major senior school academic pathway at Pembroke School. SACE enrolments encompass students from Years 10-12 (500+ students) across two campuses – Middle School, Year 10; and Senior School, Year 11 and 12. The successful tracking of students for SACE completion currently includes VET enrolments, recognition of Community Learning, study with external providers and study of single subjects within the IB Diploma as well as at tertiary level.

The Head of the SACE will negotiate with the SACE Board and its officers on a regular basis; promote SACE Board professional development activities to staff engaged in delivering the program and disseminate all relevant information to staff and students to facilitate the smooth operation of the program across the senior years. In addition, the Head of SACE is expected to liaise with senior staff who are responsible for administering the SACE formal examinations and the SACE Special Provisions application process.

Along with the Head of the IB, the Head of the SACE is a key player in the School’s academic leadership team and will contribute to the development of education policy through membership of the Academic Management Committee. Close support for and liaison with the Dean of Studies is essential. Applications are invited from experienced educators with demonstrable leadership skills who are currently registered (or eligible for registration) with the Teacher’s Registration Board of South Australia.
