POSITION INFORMATION:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Head of Library and Information Services at Oakleigh Grammar to commence in January 2020.

As a passionate professional, The Head of Library and Information Services will ensure a culture of continuous improvement with respect to the delivery of library services, information systems management, in addition to engaging students in reading, discovery and learning. He/she will be a professional and courteous individual, who will demonstrate a high degree of organization, initiative and confidentiality.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A recognized teaching qualification and current Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) teacher registration are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 8 years teaching experience and a capacity to provide high quality educational leadership in a library setting.
  • An ability to demonstrate infectious passion for reading, literature and technology in education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills with a strong ability to liaise with all levels of School staff, clients and students.
  • An ability to successfully initiate, plan and implement programs in response to new educational needs and priorities.
  • Excellent time management, sound administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing demands and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • A demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective teams and develop co-operative and constructive working relationships.
  • Proven experience of working collaboratively with a passionate team of staff to deliver a range of effective learning experiences for all students.
  • A proven capacity to improve student learning and promote academic excellence.
