The Head of Learning Area – Humanities is an integral role of the school.  We are seeking teaching in Business, Economics and Psychology.

This role ensures that our students and parents have a consistently effective and positive experience, and the appointee will collaborate with all the learning areas within History, Geography, Business, Economics, Psychology and Humanities for years 7-10. You will be a member of the school curriculum and assessment team.

  • Outstanding knowledge of and proven skills in Humanities curriculum development and assessment
  • A strong understanding of current educational practice as it relates to student learning
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, and to build a cohesive and effective team
  • Demonstrated ability in mentoring and coaching and developing appropriate professional learning opportunities for staff
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks and meet prescribed deadlines
  • Outstanding ability and experience in classroom teaching.

We are an International Baccalaureate World School so experience teaching the IB Diploma as well as NCEA is desirable but not necessary as we can support your development in this area.
