Role

Reporting to the Executive Principal, this newly created role is responsible for visioning, developing, implementing and embedding a School Wellbeing programme that is fully integrated for all students and staff. Kristin has a strong wellbeing focus with a range of social and emotional wellbeing programmes across all three schools (Junior, Middle and Senior) and seeks to develop these even further in a structured and cohesive framework through the lens of student and staff positive mental health. This role will also be responsible for providing leadership of key wellbeing staff and the Wellness centre team.
 
Experience needed
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader with a deep understanding of the role of student services to collaborate with the executive team to set the strategic direction for Kristin’s Wellbeing programme. You will be able to form positive and productive relationships with students, staff, families and external stakeholders, and have proven experience in people management.
 
You will have a growth mindset, with the ability to self-reflect and seek feedback, and an ongoing drive for self-development and improvement. This position also requires a person with highly developed interpersonal and organisation skills, and the ability to interrogate data to evaluate programmes and strategic directions.
An in-depth understanding of wellbeing, positive psychology, positive education, restorative justice practices, and a detailed understanding of high functioning independent schools is desirable.
 
This position will have a teaching component (to be negotiated with the successful applicant), so requires the successful applicant to be a qualified and registered teacher in New Zealand (or the ability to get registered by the start date).
