Annesley Junior School
Set on beautiful ‘park-like’ grounds on the fringe of the Adelaide CBD, Annesley Junior School is focused on personalising the school experience for every child.
Annesley’s dynamic staff collaborate in order to nurture creativity and curiosity in young learners, building resilient and empathetic global citizens ready for now and beyond. The Annesley community exemplifies lifelong learning through an integration of ideas and solution fluency focused on bringing the best approaches for implementation. The belief that each and every child is unique and holds great potential is paramount to the School’s progress.
The School has a distinct focus on innovation, creation and problem solving, investing in the co-design of diverse indoor learning spaces that foster collaboration and flexibility. Nature Play and Experiential Learning is central to ‘life at Annesley’ and through quality outdoor spaces students are empowered to play, explore and develop creativity, resilience and connection to the environment.
Annesley partners with diverse global experts to implement a distinct agenda of creativity, agility and entrepreneurship. Students are mentored to be highly capable and aware global citizens, taking positive action now and being prepared for success in the ever changing global community.
Annesley is a caring community for girls and boys from 2 years of age to Year 7. The School is centred upon the education philosophy of Reggio Emilia and learning and growth happens through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The School’s rich heritage dates back to its inception in 1902. Annesley is proud to be a Christian school with an intentional focus on promoting heritage, values and innovation.
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Annesley learners work to develop their strengths, discover their passions and build skills to ensure they are capable now and in the future. An Early Learning Centre and a Reception to Year 7 co-educational school on the city fringe of Adelaide, Annesley has been an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school since 2005. It’s Programme of Inquiry ensures all learners from 2 years of age to 13 years of age engage in inquiries of wellbeing and entrepreneurship all year round. Our focus on the development of core skills and transdisciplinary inquiry is characterised by experiential, personalised and student-led learning with an embedded culture of agency and action. Students are connected to a broad community of mentors and resources to guide their growth and development.
