Good Shepherd Lutheran College is a co-educational, independent college operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia. Good Shepherd commenced in 1998 and has developed an excellent reputation in a relatively short time, as providing individual care and attention to its students. The college's distinctive sub-school structure embraces the specific needs of each age group from Early Learning Centre, to Primary through to Middle and Senior School. This structure allows for a seamless education from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Good Shepherd is an IB World School, offering both the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes. St Andrew Campus, Leanyer is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School in 2016. Good Shepherd is now the largest school in the Northern Territory. It is a thriving, dynamic school, situated in a Top End district of the Northern Territory that is also thriving and rapidly developing. Good Shepherd aims to provide an educational pathway for each student that empowers them to develop as successful learners and valuable members of the wider community. It is a strong community; based on firm Christian foundations, enabling students to develop an understanding of the richness of life through the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Primary Years Programme (PYP)

The PYP is designed for students aged 3 – 12. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. It is a framework guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance, explored using knowledge and skills derived from the curriculum, as well as transdisciplinary skills, with a powerful emphasis on inquiry. The PYP provides preparation for students to engage in the IB Middle Years Programme.

Middle Years Programme (MYP)

Middle school students have an innate sense of wonder and a hunger to understand their world. At Good Shepherd Lutheran College, an International Baccalaureate World School, we are committed to your child becoming an active, compassionate and lifelong learner. Good Shepherd Lutheran College’s commitment to developing a caring global community continues with our Year 6 to Year 10 students undertaking the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). An internationally accredited framework, the MYP encourages young people to seek knowledge beyond the limits of their local and national community, and to understand and value the diverse international cultures of the world.
