Seymour College builds strong and resilient young women ready to take on the world.
Founded in 1922, Seymour College is one of Australia’s leading day and boarding schools for girls. Our safe and secure campus, set on 25 acres, is within close proximity to the Adelaide CBD, in South Australia.
The vision at Seymour is to develop women of strength, optimism and justice, confident for their future. This is achieved by uncovering the passions of every individual girl and inspiring them in their learning to ensure that they grow with every experience to become confident, driven, passionate and community minded young women.
Seymour has an enviable tradition of academic excellence with an extremely high proportion of girls obtaining their first choice of entry into Tertiary courses locally, nationally and overseas.
Academic excellence is balanced by high quality wellbeing programs and staffing.
At all levels, Seymour girls are enthusiastically engaged in the extensive co-curricular programs in Academic, Sport, Creative, Performing Arts, Cultural and Community activities.
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Seymour College is an authorised PYP school.
Diploma Programme (DP)
Seymour College is an accredited IB World School. Students in our Senior School can select a wide variety of Diploma subjects at both SL and HL level to cater to their individual needs and passions. The College has established pathways at Year 10 to prepare students for the rigor of the IB through innovative course design and unique subject offerings. With a focus on developing the whole learner, our girls flourish in a supported environment while also developing their ability to independently drive their own learning. The College offers individualised course counselling at pivotal moments throughout a girl’s senior school experience to ensure that each individual is reaching their academic potential and selecting the most appropriate courses. Each girl is further supported by a Learning Mentor who supports her academic progress and wellbeing as she progresses through the Senior School.
With a focus on flexible subject offerings, students in both the IBDP and SACE pathway have three languages they can choose to study; Chinese, French and Spanish. With many students choosing tertiary pathways into the medical sciences, the College has established subject offerings across a broad range of Mathematics and Science subjects to meet university entrance requirements in Australia and overseas. The Core aspects of the IBDP are interwoven with the College’s goal to send out into the world a generation of young women who understand the role and power of advocacy, who are committed to making ethical and just decisions, and who have a desire to make a difference in our world.
Our Senior School experience is designed and tailored for every individual student to ensure that every girl reaches her potential.
