Good Shepherd Lutheran College is a co-educational, independent college operated by the Lutheran Church of Australia. The College commenced in 1998 and has developed an excellent reputation in a relatively short time, as providing individual care and attention to its students.
Good Shepherd is an International Baccalaureate World School, offering both the Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes.
The College’s distinctive sub-school structure embraces the specific needs of each age group from Early Learning Centre, to Primary through to Middle and Senior School. This structure allows for a seamless education for Early Learning Centre to Year 12 students.
Good Shepherd is now the largest school in the Northern Territory. The St Andrew Leanyer Campus of Good Shepherd Lutheran College is an authorized PYP school. The College’s Primary Years Programme is designed for students aged 3 – 12. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. It is a framework guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance, explored using knowledge and skills derived from the curriculum, as well as transdisciplinary skills, with a powerful emphasis on inquiry. The PYP provides preparation for students to engage in the IB Middle Years Programme.
