Deputy Principal

Radford College seeks to appoint an outstanding Deputy Principal to join our thriving school community, that has remained at the forefront of co-education since its establishment in 1984. Working closely with the Principal, and a key member of the College Executive, the Deputy Principal will be an accomplished educational leader, with an ability to engage wholeheartedly and authentically with our community. They will provide inspirational leadership, vision and direction within the context of a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 school.
The Deputy Principal will work in close partnership with the Principal and College Executive team to deliver the next Radford College Strategic Plan. This pivotal role combines strategic and operational leadership with a strong focus on culture, care and continuous improvement across the school.
About the role
The role of Deputy Principal is a significant leadership role responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Secondary School, oversight of compliance, risk and safeguarding, alongside active involvement in student care, staff well-being and development, academic excellence and making a significant contribution to the management of whole-school programs including sport, co-curricular and service learning.
As a key ambassador for Radford, the Deputy Principal will represent the school in the wider community and will deputise for the Principal as required. The role also provides exposure to school governance, offering valuable insight into the complexities of school leadership at the highest level.
Offered as a full-time position commencing in 2026, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced and inspirational leader. The appointee will be an exceptional communicator, a proven educational leader and have experience in leading and building a strong culture of trust, professional discipline and care. This role demands a visible, values-driven presence across campus, someone who leads with purpose, inspires excellence, and builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families alike.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic and operational leadership as a key member of the College Executive team.
- Leading and managing teams responsible for pastoral care, co-curricular programs, and various operational functions across the College.
- Ensuring alignment and excellence in the operational delivery of sport, the co-curricular program, service learning and global education opportunities from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.
- Developing and implementing initiatives that promote student well-being, resilience, and positive behaviour from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.
- Ensuring the College’s Christian values are embedded and celebrated within the school culture.
- Collaborating with the Head of Learning and Teaching to ensure alignment between pastoral, co-curricular, and academic programs.
- Fostering a culture of strong relationships and effective communication within the College community.
- Contributing to the College’s strategic planning, policy development, and overall governance.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required
- Bachelor of Education
- A degree at master’s level is desirable
- Working with Vulnerable People clearance
- Work rights in Australia
