Somerset College on the Gold Coast plays host to the 2006 Association of IB Schools Conference which incorporates an extensive program, fantastic social events and a wide range of delegates from all over Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The Association of Australasian IB Schools Conference also boasts a range of high profile speakers to challenge, stimulate and engage as we discuss internationalism in national schools today. Our program includes speakers Associate Professor Dr Evian Gordon, Dr Don Cameron, Mr Nick Earls, Dr Joy Cumming, Ms Isabele Carmody, The HON Brendan Nelson MP, Dr Peter Goldsworthy, Professor Henry Reynolds, Professor Jim Tognolini , Professor Lyn Griffiths, Professor Kirpal Singh, Ms Nerida Saunders, Mr John Hamilton, MS Lindy Peters and Dr Lara Farrell.

Registration Costs
$440.00 Full Registration Early Bird – prior to April 15 2006
$495.00 Full Registration – after April 15 2006
Full registrations include attendance at all business sessions and workshops, morning and afternoon tea, lunch, bus transfers to/from conference accommodation, welcome cocktails, conference gala dinner and a delegate pack. $220.00 Day Delegate Registration Day delegate registration includes attendance at all business sessions and workshops on chosen day, morning and afternoon tea, lunch, bus transfers to/from conference accommodation and a delegate pack.
Social Events
Welcome Cocktails will be held at Somerset College on Saturday and the cost is included in all full registrations. For day delegates and partners extra tickets are $60.00 per person. The Conference Gala Dinner will be held at Sea World theme park and will be a once in a lifetime event. Tickets are included for all full registrations and partner of guest tickets are $120.00 per person.
Accommodation & Day Tours
Accommodation has been arranged at a range of venues that will suit all budget types. Apartments have also been arranged for those wishing to share. Most of the accommodation is walking distance to the beach and bus transfers have been arranged to and from the conference hotels from Somerset College.
All accommodation must be booked through the conference website http://www.somerset.qld.edu.au/aaibscon/accommodation.htm Conference Accommodation has been arranged at the following properties: Hotel Watermark Gold Coast, Radisson Resort Palm Meadows, Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise, Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise, Breakfree Savannah Resort and Breakfree Broadbeach on the Park. IBAP Regional Workshops at the Somerset College would be held after the AAIBS Conference, from 4-6 July 2006. These are the subjects to be offered: Primary Years Programme: Social Studies & Science in the PYP, PYP Introductory 1, Assessment in the PYP, Inquiry in the PYP, & P.E. in the PYP, Diploma Programme: Biology (L3), Chemistry (L3), Geography (L3), History (L2/3), Music (LM), Maths SL (L3), Maths Studies (L3), Physics (L3), Spanish ab initio (L2/3), & Visual Arts (L2/3).
