September 7, 2021
Having undergone the application process to be authorised as an International Baccalaureate World School, Aberfoyle Park High School were informed that authorisation has been granted as of 13 August 2021. This achievement is the result of collaboration between school staff, the governing council, parents and students, and we are delighted to officially have the capacity to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, which will be offered from 2022 onwards.

The School’s current year 10 students were recently the first cohort to be offered the chance to select the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) through the course counselling process. As a result, the first class of IBDP students are excited to commence at the beginning of next year.

The IBDP offers a diverse learning experience, encouraging students to pursue subjects across six disciplines, as well as engage in creative pursuits, community service, and the development of physical and mental well-being. The programme’s focus on holistic learning, coupled with an emphasis on international mindedness provide an enriching opportunity for all students to develop in their academic and personal endeavours.

Undertaking the role of a World School is not limited to the Diploma Programme alone. However, as a school commitment to developing global citizen’s capable of making a change to their world is an underpinning philosophy that drives the teaching and learning of all classes, for all subjects. The school’s authorisation is a milestone in the life of the school, and the beginning of an exciting new era.
