Performing Arts Teacher (Music focus) – commencing T1 2025
Rangitoto College requires a Teacher of Performing Arts (Music focus) to join our supportive and extremely well-resourced Performing Arts department
An exciting opportunity has become available for an energetic teacher with the main focus on MUSIC. The ability to potentially also teach Drama and/or Dance could be an advantage. This is a great opportunity to become part of our excellent Performing Arts team, in a school with an outstanding reputation for the Performing Arts. You would be joining a supportive and extremely well-resourced department that strives for excellence in both curriculum and co-curricular ensembles.
The successful applicant will have had experience with NCEA and the qualifications framework and be a confident Music teacher. They will possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to teach the Music curriculum up to NCEA Level 3 and potentially Scholarship Music. Please state your specific area(s) of expertise (e.g. choral, orchestra, rock bands or jazz bands etc.), as well as your experience in any of those fields.
The successful applicant will also be required to take an active leadership part in our large co-curricular PFA programme.
Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ collective agreement. (CA) https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/. as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $61,329.00 and a top rate of $103,086.00. Hours of work will be as set out in the SCA.
