Ravenswood are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Learning Support Teacher to work within the Learning Enrichment Department, providing educational support to classroom teachers, and students from K-6. This is a permanent part time role with a 0.6 FTE load, across 4 days per week.

Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydney’s North Shore. We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Learning Support Teacher to work within the Learning Enrichment Department, providing educational support to classroom teachers, and students from K-6. This is a part time role with a 0.6 FTE load, across 4 days per week.

To be successful in securing this position, you will have demonstrated knowledge and skills in learning support encompassing:

  • Understanding of student learner variability and how to meet the individual needs of students with learning differences and disabilities.
  • Knowledge of current research and best practices in teaching neurodiverse learners and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
  • Understanding of legal obligations to support students’ access to learning programs on the same basis as other students.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and delivering learning support programs, including modifications and adjustments to curriculum and assessments.
  • Collaboration with the Learning Enrichment team and classroom teachers to deliver evidence-informed programs and utilise a co-teaching support model of instruction.
  • Experience developing Individual Learning Profiles and administering disability provisions for specified assessment tasks.
  • Experience communicating with parents and case-managing students identified with additional learning needs, in consultation with classroom teachers.

Essential Qualifications

  • Post-graduate qualifications in Inclusive Education or Special Education or a willingness to pursue such qualifications.

Strongly desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
