Somerville House is a day and boarding school for girls established in 1899, providing exceptional education for students from Prep through to Year 12, with a co-educational Pre-Prep offering. Seeking experienced Mathematics and Science experts who are passionate about empowering girls’ education!
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract from 06 May 2025 until 03 December 2025. There is potential for permanency into 2026. As the School is currently in the authorisation phase of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), there may also be opportunities for future involvement with the IBDP as part of our expanding academic offerings.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Taught Mathematics (Year 11 & 12 Mathematical Methods).
- Taught Science (Year 10 Physics & Year 10 Chemistry).
- Excellent knowledge and experience teaching with the QCAA and Australian Curriculum (specifically to Mathematics and Science).

It is a mandatory requirement to hold the appropriate tertiary qualifications and current Queensland Teacher Registration (QCT).
Employment Classification
The salary and conditions of employment for Academic staff are in accordance with the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA) Enterprise Agreement 2021, as varied or replaced from time-to-time.
