At Diocesan School for Girls, we believe in preparing confident, resilient young women who are equipped to lead and make a difference in the world. Our Junior School is an IB World School delivering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), and we are seeking an inspiring and energetic Music Teacher and Performing Arts Coordinator to join our team full-time, working in Years 0-6.
This exciting dual-role position combines classroom music teaching with leadership of our vibrant primary performing arts programme. You will:
• Deliver engaging, developmentally-appropriate music education to students in Years 0–6
• Coordinate performing arts events, productions and music opportunities
• Embed the PYP philosophy into your teaching practice, fostering inquiry, creativity, and collaboration
• Work closely with the leadership and specialist teams to enhance the performing arts curriculum
• Support individual student growth in music and the arts, including choirs, instrumental groups, and co-curricular activities
You are a passionate educator with:
• A recognised teaching qualification and have New Zealand teacher registration
• Expertise in primary school music education
• Ability to lead choirs and/or experience coordinating these
• Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to lead and inspire others
• A collaborative, future-focused mindset and a commitment to holistic education
