Full-time Accounts Receivable Officer role at Hunter Valley Grammar School. Manage billing, payments, and debtor processes in a supportive team environment.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Receivable Officer to join our friendly Finance team.

The Accounts Receivable Officer position is responsible for the delivery of high-quality finance services to support the operations of the School, with a focus on the Accounts Receivable function.

This position is a full-time temporary (fixed term) position for 12 months.

Work Pattern: 8:00am to 4:30 pm with a meal break, 38 hours per week.

Key Duties

  • Working with the Assistant Accountant accurately generate all fees (school and sundry debtors) from the computerised system in a timely manner.
  • Process manual charges to accounts as required;
  • Process cash, credit card, direct debit, Bpoint transactions;
  • Working with the Assistant Accountant to action requests from parents with regards to regular payments;
  • Process, allocate and reconcile daily banking and receipts, in accordance with the Schools requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate records and reconciliations for all debtors and banking;
  • Ensuring banking in undertaken in a timely and appropriate manner, including settling of EFTPOS machines and balancing cash tills;
  • Working with the Assistant accountant to process the Bank Reconciliation.
  • Debtor Management: Working with the Assistant Accountant to follow and implement School procedures in the collection of student fees;
  • Assisting the Assistant accountant to communicate and liaise with parents, Principal, Business Manager, Director of Enrolments and external debt collection agencies in the pursuit of collection in accordance with enrolment terms;
  • Assist the Business Manager and Assistant Accountant with other Accounts Receivable tasks as required;
  • Ensure compliance with requirements of GST legislation with regards to claims for input tax credits, and with requirements for ABN registration of suppliers;
  • Working with the Business Manager and Assistant Accountant to develop Accounts Receivable procedures and processes, assisting in implementing these across the finance team and School, as appropriate.
  • Working with the Assistant Accountant and Business Manager to maintain a policy and procedure document detailing the key processes for the Accounts Receivable function;
  • Foster a commitment of continuous improvement and collaboration to ensure that efficient and effective procedures are being applied.
