Passionate about Music in education? We are looking for our next Director of Strings commencing 1 January 2026.

We are looking for our next Director of Strings, commencing from 1 January 2026 on a permanent, full-time basis continuing the reputation of exceptional quality and breadth within our Strings Programs.

Co-Curricular Music is an integral part of Somerville House, catering to a wide range of individual interests and skill levels across ensembles, immersion programs and individual achievements. Directing the strings program at Somerville House you will continue the legacy our program is renowned for.

With over 300 string students across Years 3 – 12, as the Director of Strings you will:

  • Have expertise, passion and demonstrated commitment to continue growing, developing and managing the strings program.
  • Build strong, professional and collaborative relationships with staff, students and families.
  • Make significant impact on motivating students and developing a diverse range of skills.
  • Actively collaborate, engage and execute co-curricular music and performing arts productions, showcases and ensembles.

It is a mandatory requirement to have formal qualifications appropriate to the position.

It would be highly advantageous to have significant experience in an educational environment.
