Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It educates over 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated Homeroom teacher to join our incredibly supportive Junior School (Year 0-6) team on a permanent, full-time basis in Term 1, 2026. As a homeroom teacher, you will have expertise in tailoring the educational experience to ensure every child can achieve their best and provide exceptional pastoral care. You will be responsible for the homeroom programme, which integrates Mathematics, English, Science, Social studies, and Personal and Social development, through an inquiry approach, supported by the latest research about the Science of Learning and Structured Literacy. Specialist teachers support Mandarin, te reo Māori, PE, Music, Visual and Performing Arts, which also provides non-contact time for our teachers, enabling them to spend time on planning, preparation and collaborating with their team, during the school day.

This role requires a NZ Registered teacher who has:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to build strong relationships with students and parents
- A commitment to support our co-curricular programme
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an effective team
- Enthusiasm for technology (we are a recognised Apple Distinguished School)
- A great sense of humour.
IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) prior experience is not required, with successful candidates provided with professional development, including attending training outside of school hours.
