About the Role

The Friends’ School is seeking an experienced and dedicated educator to take on the role of Learning Leader – Middle School. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team and lead innovative curriculum and teaching practice across Years 7 and 8. The successful candidate will guide staff in delivering high-quality learning experiences that reflect our Quaker values and commitment to student growth, wellbeing, and engagement. You will play a key role in curriculum development, teacher support, and fostering a culture of curiosity, academic excellence, and collaboration.

Key Focus Areas

  • Provide leadership and support in the design, delivery, and evaluation of curriculum and pedagogy across Years 7 and 8, across a range of learning areas.
  • Foster excellence in teaching and learning that aligns with the School’s Purpose & Concerns and curriculum frameworks including the Australian Curriculum, TCE, and IB
  • Lead a team of dedicated teachers and support their professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and collaboration
  • Promote a culture of academic excellence, personal best, and meaningful engagement among students and staff
  • Work collaboratively with key academic and pastoral staff to ensure smooth learning transitions and student wellbeing

Essential Qualifications

  • Registration with the Teachers Registration Board (TRB)
  • Current First Aid & CPR Practical Assessment.
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (employment category)
  • A current National Police Check
