As our STEM specialist, you will be the driving force behind a hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum. You’ll work closely with classroom teachers to integrate core teachings into meaningful, project-based activities that solve real-world problems. This role is about more than just teaching subjects; it’s about fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and the essential problem-solving skills our students need to thrive.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing a progressive, hands-on STEM curriculum.
- Managing and maintaining our dedicated makerspace, ensuring a safe and creative environment.
- Collaborating with staff to weave STEM concepts throughout our school-wide “Units of Inquiry.”
- Organising and leading extracurricular STEM activities, like clubs or science fairs.
- Using your “gifts and talents” to not only support student learning but also uphold the strategic vision of our school.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a STEM-related field.
- Valid teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching at the primary level with a strong background in a STEM discipline.
- A passion for inquiry-based learning and project-based methodology.
