Music Teacher | Permanent full time | Commencing Term 2, 2026 Tara Anglican School for Girls is seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable Senior School Music Teacher to join our dynamic Performing Arts faculty. About the Role
Music Teacher | Permanent full time | Commencing Term 2, 2026
The Senior School Music Teacher will deliver high-quality classroom programs from Years 7–12, with a strong understanding of both the IB MYP Music framework and NESA Stage 6 Music courses. The successful candidate will support students in developing musical literacy, performance skills, composition techniques, and critical listening abilities, while also contributing to co-curricular ensembles and school events.
What We’re Looking For
- A passionate educator with demonstrated experience teaching Music in a secondary school setting
- Strong knowledge of the NESA syllabus and experience in teaching Stage 4-6 Music.
- Strong knowledge of MYP Music curriculum design, assessment, and inquiry-based learning. (Change to: Experience with, and the ability to teach, the MYP Music curriculum is desirable but not essential)
- Experience teaching HSC Music 1 and/or Music 2, including preparation for performance, composition, and aural examinations
- High-level musicianship, with the ability to model and teach musical concepts effectively
- Capacity to lead or support Senior School ensembles, such as choir, band, or instrumental groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Music or Music Education
- Alignment with the values and ethos of an Anglican school
