We are seeking a strategic and service-oriented Business Information Manager to lead our Business Information Management (BIM) function. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, planning, delivery and change — translating organisational priorities into secure, sustainable and high-impact outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of Business and Planning leading a small team, you will provide visible, confident leadership across complex delivery environments while ensuring our data and systems enable excellence across the School.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
This is a senior middle leadership role responsible for leading large change initiatives involving people, systems and technology.
You will:
• Lead large-scale initiatives from planning through to implementation and operational embedding
• Manage scope, sequencing, governance and risk across complex change programmes
• Lead, coach and develop team members to lift capability, delivery maturity and service standards
• Oversee database systems and ensure the secure handling of sensitive personal data
• Take a strong service-oriented approach when working with internal stakeholders, suppliers and the wider school community
• Identify, assess and actively manage operational, cyber, privacy and delivery risks
• Provide meaningful reporting and insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Act as a stabilising and trusted escalation point during complex delivery periods
This role ensures the School’s data is accurate, accessible, secure and meaningful — enabling well-informed decisions that strengthen educational and business performance.

• Demonstrated experience leading change across people and technology
• Strong leadership capability, including coaching and performance development
• Experience working with database systems and regulated environments handling sensitive data
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a service-first mindset
• Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks in operational and project environments
• Strong systems thinking and business acumen
• Experience with finance systems, CRM, School Information Systems or Learning Management Systems
• Knowledge of SQL, reporting tools and data visualisation platforms advantageous
You will be confident operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and able to translate technical concepts into clear, practical business insights.
