About the Role
The Careers Advisor provides inspiration, assistance and advice to Senior School students, especially those in Years 10, 11 and 12, on career choice, on course selection at school and on post-school education and training options.
The Careers Advisor empowers, engages and counsels students as they explore and plan their future work, career and education options. The Careers Advisor will be required to develop, articulate and implement an integrated plan for the delivery of careers education, events, and up to date advice.
About You
You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:
- Previous experience working within a dynamic client facing environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Qualifications and experience in teaching Careers and Careers counselling.
- Ability to support and inspire students and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and manage academic programs.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to the demands of working as a key role in an independent school.
- The ability to develop and maintain networks with industry partners and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work collaboratively with CGS team members.
- The ability to implement initiatives, project delivery and change management.
- Administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills. All team members at CGS are required to have:
- Appropriate professional qualifications
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
