Dean of Learning –Years E-6 (PYP)

Tara is seeking a Dean of Learning E-6 to lead and develop Junior School programs, model excellence, and coach innovative teaching practices.

Tara Anglican School for Girls is a renowned independent girls school, and an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We proudly offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dean of Learning Years E-6 to join our team. Our mission is to inspire young minds through a blend of tradition and forward-thinking education, nurturing lifelong learners and global citizens.

About the Role

This role is instrumental in leading and developing innovative learning programs, modelling and coaching excellent, responsive, and forward thinking teaching practices within the framework of the IB PYP.

  • Permanent Full Time
  • Position to start in Term 1 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading innovative practices through collaborative planning, team teaching, and professional learning.
  • Organising Lightbulb Seminars, webinars, and written communications for the School community.
  • Overseeing the PYP action plan and ensuring the availability and understanding of relevant IB/PYP documents for all staff.
  • Maintaining active relationships with IBAP and the NSW PYP Schools Network.
  • Ensuring academic compliance with IB and NESA standards.
  • Maintaining curriculum documentation and PYP records, including the Exhibition.
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Facilitating collaborative planning team meetings and supporting cross-curricular thinking.
  • Leading and supporting teachers and students through the PYP Exhibition.
  • Team teaching and demonstrating outstanding classroom teaching in various subjects, including UOI and mathematics.
  • Integrating ICT effectively for teaching, learning, administration, and professional development.

  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of the IB PYP structure and philosophy, ideally with experience in a similar role.
