Wenona is seeking a passionate and experienced educational leader to be the next Deputy Head of the Junior School. The successful applicant will be required to lead, guide and develop academic, student wellbeing and service opportunities for our K-6 students. An appreciation of the Primary Years Program and the goal of international mindedness will provide strategic and operational direction across Junior School, whilst fostering authentic relationships with the students, staff, and the wider Wenona community.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Wellbeing Team to foster an inclusive, supportive and values driven culture among the whole School community.
- Collaborate with members of the Senior Executive to monitor and manage risk, facilities, and various educational initiatives.
- Support the planning and delivery of all initiatives that aim to enrich and develop the learning experiences for our students.
- Facilitate a culture of learning and care for both teachers and students.
- Evaluate operational procedures and practices to enhance the quality of teaching and learning and student well-being.
- Plan events and initiatives, ensuring that communication is clear, professional and timely.
- Communicate with the community on initiatives and innovations within the K-6 teaching and learning areas.
- Liaise with key staff to support authentic and engaging learning experiences across the Junior School.
- Meet with parents to ensure the effectiveness of all matters related to the School’s operation, providing support where required.
This is a permanent full-time position, starting Term 1, 2025. Early applications are encouraged.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be highly qualified and have experience in leadership of a Junior School. You will display leadership qualities by guiding the team and students throughout the academic and well-being programs, whilst embedding our school’s values of courage, strength, grace, wisdom, and kindness. You will be solutions-focused, flexible and have excellent communication skills with an ability to engage and communicate with various stakeholders. You will display a strong understanding of how a Junior School operates, to help enrich the experience of our students in Years K-6.

This role requires the successful applicant to be NESA accredited, hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check, current NSW Police Check and to be fully COVID vaccinated.
