The Friends’ School, Hobart is a leading Independent School in Tasmania, teaching students from Early Learning to Year 12 across the PYP, IBDP, TCE and Australian Curriculum, under the auspices of The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Walker House is the School’s co-educational boarding residence with a capacity to accommodate 45 international and domestic students. The residence accommodates the Director of Residence and their family as well as a live-in Residence Supervisor.
We are seeking a caring and dedicated person to fill this role whilst our current Director is on extended leave for 2025.
The Director of Residence is responsible for the administration of Walker House and the welfare of students in residence. This role is an integral part of the School community, linking Middle and Senior School staff with our Boarding House and students. Working with our School community, they are responsible for monitoring the students’ academic progress, pastoral care and wellbeing and promoting a healthy, happy environment encouraging lifestyle balance and social interaction.

- Fixed-term – one year – 2025
- Full-time

- Conditions to be negotiated for teaching/non-teaching applicants
- The role will commence on 1 January 2025
