The opportunity
Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It provides education for more than 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. Kristin is dedicated to its motto and values; progress with vision, integrity and love.
We seek an experienced educational leader to join our Inclusive Learning department, which supports special learning needs and our gifted students. You will lead the Inclusive Learning team focussed on working with students, staff and parents so that learning can be accessible for all students and allows them to demonstrate their best. This role provides support, mentoring, coaching, and training for teachers across Year 7-13 to enhance their provision in meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Our diverse learners are recognised as those identified as gifted and talented (GATE) as well as those diagnosed with learning needs and needing learning support. As a valued member of our teaching staff, you will participate in the School’s annual camp and co-curricular programmes.
Important Skills
This requires a NZ registered teacher with:
- A proven record of experience and success in inclusive education
- Demonstrated success as a leader in engaging staff, students and parents
- People management experience
- Ability to train and empower teachers to implement differentiation techniques
- Knowledge to create and adjust inclusive learning plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Post graduate qualifications in the inclusive learning area or wiliness to obtain these.
