Conversion to ATAR for 2018 University entry

May 23, 2017
The 2018 IB Diploma to ATAR Conversion now available

Most Australian Teriary Admissions Centres use a national system for University admissions.  The system ranks students based on their Year 12 or equivalent study on an incrimental scale from 99.95 (the top) to 0, although scores below 30.00 are reported as ‘below 30’. An ATAR of 70.00 means that a student has ranked 30% from the top and 70% above all students of the cohort year. An ATAR of 50.00 would place the student in the middle of their cohort year.

For Australian national IB Diploma students applying to most Australian Universities a conversion from IB Diploma result to ATAR is produced. This conversion is determined by the Australian Conference of Tertiary Admissions Centres (ACTAC). The conversion from IB Diploma result to Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) for 2017 graduates for 2018 University entry for  Australia has been released and is available at:  https://ibaustralasia.org/university-entrance
