Founded in 1890 Kingswood College is a co-educational independent school with 620 students from Kindergarten-Year 12.

Located in Box Hill in the heart of the eastern suburbs the College is comprised of the Imaginarium (Early Learning Centre), Junior School (Prep-Year 6), Middle School (Years 7-9) and Senior School (Years 10-12).

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) has been running in the Imaginarium and Junior School since 2013.

Our campus is set on 20-acres and heritage listed buildings adjoin contemporary state-of-the-art learning facilities with an abundance of outdoor learning and recreational spaces.

We know that our Junior School students learn best when they feel safe, valued and challenged and at the heart of a Kingswood College education is the wellbeing of every student – their mind, body, heart and spirit.

At Kingswood College, school days look and sound different. All students wear an activewear wardrobe and each day involves physical activity. Our academic and co-curricular program is designed to stimulate and develop a love of learning in every student.

Recently, the College sought feedback from a number of current and future families about their reasons for choosing Kingswood College as the education partner for their children.

The overarching message from the Kingswood College community was loud and clear: the sense of belonging together and we have received very strong affirmation for this both in and beyond the College community.

In discussing what it means to commit to a Kingswood College education, we speak with prospective families about a package, rather than a single point of difference and this is detailed on our website www.kingswoodcollege.vic.edu.au.

We celebrate the individual, embrace diversity, and welcome all students to our community. Ours truly is a genuine community where everyone – students, staff and families – belong.

Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Students in the Junior School at Kingswood College set out on an exciting journey of the mind, body, heart and spirit through an innovative, collaborative and engaging approach to learning.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) at Kingswood College fits within our innovative LATTICE framework; Learning and Teaching through Innovation, Collaboration and Engagement.

Within a caring environment, students and staff form a cooperative partnership based upon our College values of respect, compassion, responsibility and integrity.

This partnership extends to parents and the wider community in an effort to enhance the development of each child whose participation as a valued and responsible citizen is a priority. Intellectual, cultural and social diversity are encouraged and celebrated.

Students are challenged as part of a learning community that enriches each individual’s experience and makes learning personal and meaningful. As part of the IB philosophy students are encouraged to take action based on their learning in an effort to contribute to making the world a better place.
