Established in 1890, Kingswood College is a co-educational Kindergarten to Year 12 day school.

Kingswood College has a bold vision: to be a world class school known for our innovation, collaboration and engagement, where our students’ potential soars because we nurture and challenge them to know themselves and achieve their personal best.

In 2020 Kingswood College is rethinking education for a brighter future.

The world has changed beyond imagination, and we believe it’s time to transform education too.

We can’t keep educating using an outdated 19th century model as our base. After all, nothing is more important than your child’s education.

At Kingswood College we’re not waiting for the future to arrive. We’re shaping our own – for the benefit of all our students. That’s why we’ve developed an inspiring new approach to learning called the Kingswood Future Learning model.

Developed from extensive research, Future Learning promotes an array of cross-curricular skills in a hands-on learning environment.

School days now look and sound different, with no bells and a much more flexible  timetable. The traditional school uniform has been replaced with active wear and each day involves physical activity.

Future Learning removes existing barriers to education and expands traditional classroom structures with collaborative, project-based learning using proven strategies. Our teachers mentor students, closely monitoring their progress and growth at a personal level so they can go out into the world with confidence.

Our academic and co-curricular program is designed to stimulate and develop a love of learning in every student. Across all disciplines, our students are equipped with the latest resources to enhance their education experience.

The College offers a wide range of programs at all year levels including the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), VCE and VET in the senior years, and curricular and co-curricular activities to suit every student’s talents and interests.

Spread across 20 acres in Melbourne’s east, our campus combines heritage-listed buildings with leading edge facilities, providing students with inspirational spaces that encourage and facilitate their learning.

Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Students in the Junior School at Kingswood College set out on an exciting journey of the mind, body, heart and spirit through an innovative, collaborative and engaging approach to learning.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) at Kingswood College fits within our innovative LATTICE framework; Learning and Teaching through Innovation, Collaboration and Engagement.

Within a caring environment, students and staff form a cooperative partnership based upon our College values of respect, compassion, responsibility and integrity.

This partnership extends to parents and the wider community in an effort to enhance the development of each child whose participation as a valued and responsible citizen is a priority. Intellectual, cultural and social diversity are encouraged and celebrated.

Students are challenged as part of a learning community that enriches each individual’s experience and makes learning personal and meaningful. As part of the IB philosophy students are encouraged to take action based on their learning in an effort to contribute to making the world a better place.
