Mansfield Steiner inspires students’ critical thinking, emotional intelligence and creativity, supporting students’ development to become free-thinking, globally minded individuals, capable of designing their own lives with initiative and purpose.
Located in the foothills of the Victorian High Country, Mansfield Steiner School was founded in 1986 and has been an integral part of the educational landscape of Mansfield and District area.
Offering a rich, developmentally appropriate and ACARA approved curriculum from Preschool to Year 12, Mansfield Steiner School is one of only two Steiner schools in Australia to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
The IB Diploma Programme is a natural continuation for the Senior School, which is underpinned by the creative Steiner pedagogy in the Primary and Secondary years. At its heart the IB Diploma aims to encourage students to be knowledgeable and inquiring, but also caring and compassionate lifelong learners.
There is a strong emphasis on helping students to develop intercultural understanding, open-mindedness and the attitudes necessary for them to respect and evaluate a range of points of view.
The IB is a celebrated curriculum recognised worldwide for its integrity and holistic principles of learning. It has become a symbol of academic integrity and intellectual promise throughout the world of international education, providing sound preparation for life in the 21st Centry, and a ‘passport to the future’ for students seeking entrance to universities and colleges in Australia, and overseas. Whilst colleges and universities recognition policies may vary, they all have one thing in common; through their policies, these institutions make it apparent that they understand and appreciate the Diploma Programme graduate and the rigour of the Diploma Programme itself.
