Rivercrest is an authorised International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Rivercrest supports the mission statement of the International Baccalaureate (IB), which aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a curriculum framework that caters for students from 3 – 12 years of age. The focus of the curriculum is the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom.
Rivercrest’s NEW Middle Years Campus caters for students from Year 6 – Year 10. The curriculum builds upon the knowledge, conceptual understandings and skills addressed in our Primary Years.
All students participate in our spiritual, social and emotional skills programme, SALT.
The curriculum framework is based on an inquiry approach to learning with a strong emphasis on problem solving and real world application. Students are challenged to explore ideas and issues of local and global significance. Developing the skills to be both independent and collaborative is an essential part of the curriculum.
